Age Group: All ages but parental guidance

The purpose of ham radio nets is to build connections with fellow operators, share information, and practice communication skills. Nets can be a great way for new ham radio operators to get started in the hobby, as they provide a supportive environment where they can learn from more experienced operators.

An amateur radio net, or simply ham net, is an "on-the-air" gathering of amateur radio operators. Most nets convene on a regular schedule and specific frequency, and are organized for a particular purpose, such as relaying messages, discussing a common topic of interest, in severe weather, emergencies, or simply as a regular gathering of friends for conversation.

The Calaveras Amateur Radio Society has regular emergency Practice Nete on a weekly basis.
