Programing the Baofeng GM-15 PRO GMRS Radio

Post by OSCAR-03 »

Use the Radioddity GM-30 Software for the Baofeng GM-15 PRO.
However, DO NOT UPDATE THE FIRMWARE!

MANUALS & SOFTWARE

Follow the link below and you will find user manuals, device drivers and software for a wide range of Radioddity products, including the GM-30 (about half way down the page under GMRS and MURS).

The program is pretty straight forward if you have basic computer skills. You will need the programing cable (I use the same one for my Baofeng radios).

Procedure
  • Start by downloading the software, open the program, connect your cable to radio and PC, turn on radio.
  • Then, from the menu bar; >> Communication Port (choose the port programing cable is connected to) >> OK
  • Next, from the menu bar; >> Program >> Read from radio.
  • Next, from the menu bar; >>File >> Save (give file a name and location to save to) >> Save.
  • Next; from the menu bar; >> File >> Open >> Select the new file you just saved and you will see what was pre programed into your radio.
  • I like to save a copy of original data for backup. From the menu bar; >> File >> Save As (give it a new name) >> Save >>
  • Modify new copy; RX Freq, TX Freq, Name, PL offset, power level and scanning as needed and save
  • Then; from the menu bar; >> Program >> Write to radio. Presto! Test your radio and make changes if needed.
You can add many more frequencies to what is already there, Change what is scanned or rename however you choose. Be sure save your modified Data File before closing the program.

For anyone needing additional help with programing check the calendar for special events where programing will be scheduled or send me a private message or email and I will help in what ever way I can.
